ok, so today at the daycare that i volunteer at it was ‘princess and superhero’ day and this little boy walked in in this sparkling blue dress and my favorite thing is that none of the kids reacted at all, they just told him he looked pretty and went on with their day and that is why children are better than adults

Why girls stress over periods
  • The constant fear of bleeding through clothes
  • The constant cramps
  • Having to change pads/tampons every 2-4 hours
  • Having to deal with mood swings
  • Having to deal with boys going ‘Oh someones on their period’
  • When you stand up its like a waterfall from your vagina
  • Craving food to calm you down
  • The constant fear that you smell of blood even though you dont
  • Feeling over emotional

“You can’t complain when other people have it worse” is a lie that people in power tell because it sets people in bad circumstances up in a competition. It means when we share our stories, we are always quietly fighting for the prize of being the worst off, and getting a tiny scrap of sympathy.

That keeps us from getting together and asking, why are our circumstances so bad and how can we make them better? It means only one person gets to complain and that person does it alone. As opposed to people working in concert to change their lives, to give each other strength and advice and encouragement.

Those that criticize Beyonce’s album for not being “feminist” enough fail to recognize the honesty in the album. Beyonce is a woman living in a patriarchal world and the album is such a raw reflection on that.

so many women can relate to the complex feelings in the album. I love her for making an album that is relateable on every track.

Police accountability

As a new teacher I am evaluated almost 10 times to make sure I am EDUCATING (aka the core of my profession). As uncomfortable as these random evaluations may make me, I understand it is for accountability.

Police officers opposed to wearing cameras are admitting that they are not PROTECTING their community (the core of their profession.)
